Attaching Attributes to Spaces
• Open Digital Project
• The new dictionary will be found in the “Project Attributes” tool bar called “GSAProperties”
• Select all the spaces in your project and use the attach package command (located in “Packages” tool bar) to apply attributes to the spaces
• Repeat selection of spaces and attach package command until all four categories are applied to all your spaces.
• Expand the tree of the space and you will see the four attribute packages.
Exporting Attributes to Excel Data Sheet
• Before you export attributes to an Excel data sheet you want to make sure your quantities are current. Use the update quantities command located in the “Excel Data Sheets” tool bar to acquire the current net and gross square footage calculations.
• Click the Export Data Sheet command in the tool bar to open the Add Excel Data Sheet window.
• Under Attributes click Report...
• Add all the GSAProperties and the IfcQuantities - Space Quantities - GrossFloorArea and NetFloorArea to the selection
• Click OK and OK again to export attributes to an Excel data sheet
• Make the "GSA Bim Area" Attribute equal to the DP NetFloorArea quantites
• Click the “->Synchronize<-“ button in the “Add Excel Data Sheet” dialog box to update your spaces in the model with the current square footage calculation
• Repeat these steps for “GSA Design Gross Area” but this category is to be equal to the “GrossFloorArea” column
• Remember that all the Space groups that encompass all spaces (GSA_DesignGross_Floor_01) are not to have a “GSA Bim Area” leave that set to “<Unset> and use the “NetFloorArea” column to equal the “GSA Design Gross Area”
